Yes! For each physical transaction, your contactless card securely transmits a unique one-time "digital" card number that encrypts your card information. The one-time "digital" card number ties back to your debit card number, allowing you to complete the transaction while keeping your actual card number safe and secure. Your Fifth Third contactless card is set-up to not require your PIN when you tap to pay at checkout. However, some merchants may still require a PIN, if they choose.

It is likely there could be an issue with the card reader or the merchant may not have the contactless feature enabled. In either case, you can still complete the transaction by inserting the chip or swiping the card.
